The War Effort: 1940s

$4.00

Snapshot, 1940s
In times of social upheaval, World War II included, American women took over jobs that were traditionally held by male workers. While the wages were higher than what they might have earned doing “women’s work,” female employees were paid less for doing the same jobs, and dismissed when the number of available male workers returned to normal levels.
